Did you ever hear of GPE? The Global Partnership for Education?
It’s of interest to me, because I still need to understand it…
Ok, lets see if I get it a little right. Otherwise please help me to understand…
It seems in a first approach that GPE is like a “fundraising agency” for the World Bank.
They collect money all over the world, especially during “pledge days” where like billions are donated by States/ governments and big philanthropists or foundations and organisations. You are only invited if you make a pledge prior to the event.
Then the raised money is transferred to the World Bank?
Then the World Bank transfers the money to the most vulnerable countries/governments to invest the money in education? Most vulnerable – most corrupt?
Then, these governments will invest these amazing sums in education in their countries?
IF SO, and talking about Billions, why the hell do we still have education gaps?
Why would anyone give donations to developing countries’ governments?
How can these sums not satisfy the education gap that we face today in the global world?
How much is calculated in all these steps administration fees?
WHY IS NO ONE INTERESTED IN UNDERSTANDING?
I just wish to make one thought:
all the schools or education facilities, teachers education programs or curricula developments made by private donors, smaller organizations in disadvantaged countries, are these calculated by the governments as “given” into these GPE budget goals to reach?
HOW CAN THIS please BE CHECKED? Who checks?
I really wish to understand! Maybe I am completely wrong and the surveillance mechanism is so great that nobody is aware of it.
At the end we are talking about money from our tax that governments donate to GPE.
But still, until today nobody could explain to me the mechanism, the administration fees and the surveillance system!
Please help!
